Starfish Services are delivering support for unwaged people in Cannock as part of the Evolve ‘Building Better Opportunities’ (BBO) project.

Starfish Services are delivering support for unwaged people in the Cannock district as part of the Evolve ‘Building Better Opportunities’ (BBO) project.

Here in Cannock we are called the Starfish BBO Hub.

The Starfish Services BBO project is built around Hubs groups, these are community groups that meet to support people recovering from emotional distress and social isolation.
We will support those unwaged individuals over the age of 18 years to take part in workshops to help build life skills, relationships and employability. The aim is for those participants to work towards feeling work ready, having improved in confidence and resilience.
All participants will then be encouraged and supported to join Hub groups and will be offered the chance of training to become a Peer Supporter within hub groups, with the possibility for some to become an accredited Volunteer achieving an Open College Network West Midlands level 2 qualification in Supporting People in Recovery.
The project started in February 2017 and was intended to end in January 2020 because of its success we have now received an extension and will run until 2022. For more information, and book an appointment contact us on: 07377 800 211, 01543 506 116 or email hilary.marklew@starfishservices.co.uk k
